Choosing the right board
Packaging material affects strength, weight, print quality, feel and price. A lightweight cosmetic carton, a heavy shipping box and a luxury gift box all need very different boards, so we help you match the material to your product and to how it will be sold and shipped.
Paperboard: cardboard and bux board
Cardboard (SBS) and bux board are smooth, coated paperboards that deliver sharp, bright print. They are the go-to choice for retail cartons, food boxes and pharmaceutical packaging, offering a great balance between quality and cost.
Kraft board
Kraft is unbleached and naturally brown, with a strong, earthy look that suits organic, handmade and eco-conscious brands. It is fully recyclable and can be printed in one colour for a minimal look or in full colour for bolder designs.
Corrugated board
Corrugated board has a fluted layer between two liners that absorbs impact and adds stacking strength. E-flute is thin and printable for mailer boxes, while B-flute and double-wall options protect heavier and more fragile products in transit.
Chipboard and rigid board
Chipboard is a dense, economical board used for inserts, backers and sturdy cartons. Rigid board is thicker still and wrapped in printed paper to create premium boxes that do not fold, ideal for luxury gifts, electronics and jewelry.
Materials and printing
This material can be printed in full-colour CMYK, Pantone spot colours or simple one-colour designs. We advise on board thickness and flute type so your box is strong enough without adding unnecessary weight or cost.
Finishing options
Finish your packaging with gloss or matte lamination, soft-touch coating, gold or silver foil, embossing, debossing or spot UV. Windows, inserts, handles and tear strips can be added to suit the product.
